Graveside service for Rodney Culpepper, Jr., 85, of Wills Point is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point with Rev. David Cartwright officiating. Services are under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
He passed away Saturday morning, April 8, 2017, in Tyler.
Rodney was born on August 17, 1931, in De Leon, Texas, the son of Rodney Culpepper, Sr. and Ruby Lois Van Zandt Culpepper. He was raised in De Leon and graduated from De Leon High School. Rodney was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. On January 20, 1954, he married Elrita Whittington in Wichita Falls. During Rodney's lifetime, he was well known and respected as a professional brick mason, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time. He lived in Rockwall prior to moving to Wills Point in 1964. Rodney was of the Methodist faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, Rodney Culpepper, Sr. and Ruby Culpepper; wife, Elrita Culpepper on November 16, 2014 and his daughter, Linda Kay McCormack on January 21, 2005.
Rodney is survived by his son, Rod Culpepper, of Wills Point; daughter, Lisa Rogers & husband, Sam, of Palestine; three grandchildren, Calvin Fellers, Jeff Fellers and Chris Hendricks and three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Payton and Kalie.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
