Obituary

Funeral services for Ronnie Montgomery Fenter, 71, of Emory will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 18, at the church of Christ in Emory, Texas. Interment will follow at Lone Star Cemetery in Point.
Pallbearers are Landry Mills, Tom Gowins, Billy Smith, Johnny Northcutt, Roy Franklin, Jim Jacks, Henry Potts, and William Thompson.
Mr. Fenter passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday morning, June 13, at his home in Emory.
He was born on September 5, 1949, in Greenville, Texas, to Averal Montgomery and Ola V Pope Fenter. He was married to Nancy Ruth Wade for 51 years, marrying on August 23, 1969, in Emory.
He was a 1968 graduate of Rains High School and attended Henderson County Junior College majoring in Animal Husbandry.
He worked for TxDOT; for the Railroad as a brakeman, Ray's Hardware Store, LyBrand Funeral Home, and was self employed as a carpenter. He began working at the Sabine River Authority in January 1981, and retired July 11, 2006, as the field supervisor.
During his retirement years he enjoyed hatching and raising quail, raising chickens, and selling eggs from his 300 hens. His hobbies included wood working, coon hunting, quail hunting, rebuilding horse drawn wagons, and working his horses with wagons. He worked his wagons with Belgian Percheron, and even mules. He loved horses and trail rides with his family. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.
He was a member of the church of Christ in Emory where he served as an elder at one time and was song leader for the congregation. He loved singing and leading. He began leading singing at 5 years old, standing with his dad.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Connie Fenter and Jacob, Amy Wallace and husband Dannan; grandchildren, Cara Mills, Kinsey Mills, Landry Mills, Audrey Wallace, George Wallace, and Stella McNally; aunts, Faye Pope Donald, Betty Fenter Tidwell Weeden, and Annie Wade Johnson; brothers-in-law, Gene Wade and wife Vicki and Tommy Wade and fiancé Tamela Goss.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Montgomery Fenter; parents; and brother, Ricky Thomas Fenter.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 17, from 6:00-8:00p.m.
Services are under direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home.
