Obituary

Rose Evelyn Elaine Christie (Shaffer), aged 73, passed away on June 24, 2024, in Canton, Texas. Born on December 21, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, Rose dedicated many years of service to the Dallas County Clerk's Office before retiring in 2011.

Rose was a devout Christian and an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wills Point, where she expressed her love for music by singing in the church choir. Her faith and community were central to her life, providing her with much joy and fulfillment.

Apart from her professional and spiritual life, Rose was a passionate writer, having published two books, and had a profound love for gardening, nurturing plants and flowers with great care. Her hobbies reflected her nurturing personality, which extended to her church family and friends.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Albert Christie; daughter, Amy Christie Landers and son-in-law Curtis; grandchildren, Ashley (Luis), Christopher (Angelica), Corey Allen, and Aria; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Elyse, Roman, Essien, and Leah; and her sister Shirley Shaffer. She is also survived by nieces Summer, Donna, and Elizabeth; as well as many extended relatives. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Clivey Matthews Shaffer and Clara Mae Haines Shaffer; her son, Benny Allen Christie; sister, Ann Buckholt; and brothers, Benny Shaffer and Billy Worthington

Services for Rose will be held by the family on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church located in Wills Point Rose's life and legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
