Sammy Dale Gowin, 64, of Emory, Texas passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022.

Sammy was born on March 11, 1958, to Robert Kenneth and Willie Ruth Gowin in Dallas, Texas. He was raised in Emory and moved back to Emory in 2015 from Bells. Sammy graduated from Rains High School in 1976. He was a member of Round Flat Pentecostal Church. Sammy was a volunteer Fireman for Bells. He worked 20 years in law enforcement. He enjoyed running bull dozers, cattle, bull riding, hunting, and shooting guns.

Sammy leaves behind his mother Ruth Gowin of Emory, Texas; son Brandon Gowin of Henderson, Texas; daughters, Kayla Gowin and Destiny Gowin of Bells, Texas; grandchildren Aubrey Carpenter, Payton Gowin, Paisley Brookshire and Lucas Brookshire; great-grandchild Patsley Gowin; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Services will be held for Sammy Gowin on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Round Flat Pentecostal Church. Family will be accepting guests one hour prior for visitation.
