Sammye Lee Cotton 43, of Wills Point, Texas passed away after Battling ALS on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
Sammye Foster was born on January 1, 1979, in Garland, Texas, the daughter of Richard and Joi Anette Foster. She was raised in Emory. Sammye moved to Wills Point in 2004. On October 8, 2005, she married her husband Robert Cotton. Together they had their two children. Sammye was the Telecommunications Manager of City of Garland. She also worked at McKinney Police Department as a 911 dispatcher. She worked with MECDA (Municipal Emergency Communications District Association) as the Treasurer, and always was a member of APCO (Association of Public Safety Communication Officials) and NENA (National Emergency Number Association. She held two certifications ENP (Emergency Number Professional) and CMCP (Center Manager Certification Program). Sammye loved boating and fishing. She loved every minute of watching her boys play sports. She was always taking selfies and making everyone laugh.
Sammye leaves behind her husband Robert Cotton of Wills Point; father Richard Foster of Emory; sons, Dillon Cotton and Cody Cotton of Wills Point; sister Sara Foster of Leonard; grandmother Leta Mae Rabe; father and mother-in-law, Luke and Diane Cotton of Wills Point; brother-in-law, Michael and Honey Cotton; sister-in-law, Stephannie and Ovidio Saucedo of Wills Point; along with many loving relatives and friends.
Sammye is preceded in death by her mother Joi Anette Foster and grandfather Sammy Hurst who also passed of ALS.
Funeral services will be held for Sammye Lee Cotton on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home. Family will be accepting guests one hour prior for visitation. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to ALS Foundation. Online condolences may be made at mullinfullerfuneralhome.com.
