Obituary

Sandra Kay Templeton, 75, passed away on January 28, 2026, in Grand Saline, Texas. Born on March 9, 1950, in El Paso, Texas, Sandra was raised in Dell City before eventually making her home in Edgewood.

A proud graduate of Dell City High School's Class of 1968, Sandra carried the values of hard work and creativity throughout her life. She spent many years working at Cowboys BBQ, where she became a familiar and friendly face to countless patrons.

Sandra had a deep love for crafting and was known for her intricate Native-inspired creations and delicate egg carvings. Her hands were rarely still—she was always making something beautiful or useful. A talented cook and vibrant spirit, she also enjoyed singing and dancing in her younger years. Her kitchen was often filled with the warmth of home-cooked meals and the laughter of loved ones.

She cherished her family above all else. Sandra is survived by her devoted husband, Sidney Templeton; her son Darin Bass and his wife Melissa; and her beloved grandchildren Braxton and Sibyl Bass. She also leaves behind her sister Penelope Resley and husband Jimmy and many nieces and nephews

Sandra was preceded in death by her brother Bryan Prather and sister Bonnie Larreau Prather.

Her particular nature—meticulous to the last detail—was a hallmark of who she was. Those who knew Sandra will remember not only her creativity but also the immense love she held for her son and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Prather Ranch Cemetery located in Piñon, New Mexico

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
