Obituary

Memorial service for Shirley Lee Barnes, 89, of Wills Point, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Mr. Tony Cooper officiating.  Interment will be at Bright Star Cemetery north of Wills Point.
She passed away early Friday morning, August 3, 2018, in McKinney.
Shirley was born April 3, 1929, in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of Frank McCaddon and Cora Lambeth McCaddon.  She was raised in Dodge City, Kansas, where she attended Dodge City High School.  On January 4, 1947, she married Dorell E. "Barney" Barnes in Dodge City.  Shirley was formerly employed by Sanger Harris in Irving for twenty years and J.C. Penney in Terrell for twenty years, retiring in 2003.  She enjoyed gardening, listening to music and visiting with friends.  She lived in Irving prior to moving to Wills Point in 1985.  Shirley was a member of Seven Oaks Baptist Church north of Wills Point, where she was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir.
Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Cora McCaddon; husband, Barney Barnes; son, Johnnie Barnes and a brother, Bill Hines.
Shirley is survived by her two sons, Joe Barnes, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Steve Barnes & wife, Susan, of McKinney; daughter, Cynda Dart & husband, Chuck, of Sacramento, California; special friend, Tina Polege & husband, Billy, of Wills Point; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
