Funeral services for Shirley Nell Glidden, 82, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor Billy Hickman officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
She passed away Friday morning, May 17, 2019, at her residence in Wills Point.
Shirley was born July 29, 1936, in Wills Point, the daughter of Oliver Porter Earnheart and Daphine Furrh Earnheart. She was raised in Wills Point, where she graduated from Wills Point High School. She married Jessie Milton Glidden, Jr. in August of 1959 in Wills Point. Shirley was formerly employed by Terrell State Hospital for sixteen years, Crestwood Nursing Home in Wills Point for twenty years, Azalea Trails Nursing Home in Grand Saline and retired from Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Canton. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, watching soap operas, gardening and watching hummingbirds. Shirley was a member of Turner Baptist Church in Wills Point.
Preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Daphine Earnheart; husband, Jessie Milton Glidden, Jr. in 1994; sister, Netta Crow; brother, James Oliver; son, James Glidden; grandson, James Trejo and a great-grandson, Taylor Wayne Burnett.
Shirley is survived by two sons, Richard Glidden, of Wills Point and David Glidden & wife, Kim, of Wills Point; three daughters, Nelda Tettleton, of Wills Point, Teresa Lincoln & husband, Bill, of Wills Point and Kathy Trejo & husband, Luther, of Wills Point; brother, William Earnheart & wife, Linda, of Yantis; three sisters, Linda Gober & husband, Greg, of Terrell, Helen Gillespie & husband, Ed, of Leicester, North Carolina and Zillie Munchie, of Ft. Worth; ten grandchildren, Shirley Tettleton, Michelle Burnett, Sara Glidden, Jessie Glidden, Jessica Dickerson, Maggie Trejo, Rigo Trejo, Silvio Trejo, Brandi Wilkins and Meagan Frye and twenty great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
