Shirley Moore
Smith
June 14, 1943 – August 23, 2022
Shirley Moore Smith, 79 of Wills Point, Texas went to meet the lord on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in the comfort of her Wills Point home surrounded by her husband Russell, kids, and beloved dog.
Shirley never knew a stranger and was loved by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. She had a heart of gold and was a very giving and classy lady. Most of her adult life was spent working and caring for patients as a doctor's assistant in a medical office in Dallas. When she was not at work she enjoyed family dinners, daily sly conversations with her cousin Barbara, and Elvis.
Along with her family and beloved dog Roscoe, she also enjoyed yard work and giving new life and pazzaz to the treasures she created from bargain/thrift stores. Her creativity was nothing short of professional masterpieces of beauty.
Shirley leaves behind her loving husband of 15 years Russell Smith; children, Doug and wife Stephanie, Cindy, Audra and husband Joe Villanueva, Sharla and husband Tony Randolph, Chand and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Sandina Cook, Casey Weber, Cody Weber, Kody Culver, Kourtney Chavira, Caylor Mosman, Kamren Smith, Sarah Fain, Grant Thomas, Schawn Smith, Mackenzie Greenhill, Joshua Hernandez, Shelby Smith, Gavin Smith, Anthony Ramos, Traci, Jamie and Lina Randolph; and 16 great grandchildren along with many friends and followers of the Dairy Queen Group.
Special thanks to Stephanie, Tiffany, Sharla, the caring staff at the hospital, HH, and Vitas for the devotion and tender loving care and in providing peace to Shirley in her final days on this earth. You all have touched our hearts forever and we are truly grateful.
Shirley loved and lived life to the fullest and did it her way! She was no stranger to the "C" word after having 7 different vicious forms of cancer during her life. The eleven-year battle was relentless, but she never gave up. She fought until the end, her body was tired, and on August 23 rd Shirley went to meet the lord and be reunited with her mom Sandina, dad Lee, brothers Joe and Everett, grandparents Mama and Pa Pa Saladino. As they rejoice in heaven, we will miss you dearly. Love you always, until we meet again!
