Sterling Warden, aged 85, passed away on August 28, 2024, in Wills Point, Texas.
Born on September 22, 1938, in Sherman, Texas, Sterling was a respected member
of his community and a devoted servant to his nation as a proud veteran of the
United States Navy.
A man of deep faith, Sterling was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church in
Wills Point, Texas. His commitment to his faith was evident in his daily life and
interactions. He was known for his strong, kind, and honorable character,
embodying the qualities of a truly good man.
Sterling had a passion for trail riding and cherished spending time with his family.
His love for his children and his church community was profound and formed the
cornerstone of his life.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Elizabeth Warden; sons,
James Warden (Suny), Kenny Ray Warden (Amy), Nolen Dean Wagoner; and daughter, Wanda
Bodensteiner (Robert). His sisters, Sandy Griffin and Janette Coffman (Robert),
also survive him. Sterling was a proud grandfather to Velvet, Michael, Christy,
Karli, Hannah, Noah, and Skylar, and a great-grandfather to Conner, Gage, Chris,
MacKenzie, Maverick, Emma, Hailee, and Oliver. He also had the joy of knowing
his great-great-grandchild, Milo. He was preceded in death by his parents, James
and Marie Warden; daughter, Susan Yarbrough; grandson, Christopher Wa
rden;
brother, Charles Warden; and his wife, Lois Marie Warden.
A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate Sterling's life on Saturday,
August 31, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Wills Point, Texas. The
Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas, is assisting the family during
this time.
Sterling Warden's legacy of strength, commitment, and love will continue to inspire
all who knew him. He will be dearly remembered and sorely missed.
