Funeral services for Susan Roan "S.R." Stephens, 94, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Dr. Gene Lindsey officiating.  Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.

She passed away Monday afternoon, March 19, 2018, at Canton Oaks Nursing Home.

Susan was born April 4, 1923, in Wills Point, the daughter of Joe H. Furrh and Emmie May McBride Furrh.  She lived in Wills Point most of her life and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1942.  On December 6, 1945, she married L.C. Steve Stephens in Wills Point.  S.R. was formerly employed by Sears & Roebuck in Dallas as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1968.  She lived in Louisiana for twenty years prior to moving back home to Wills Point in 2004.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and riding horses.  S.R. was a member of the Eastern Star and was of the Baptist faith.

Preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Emmie May Furrh; son, Lawrence Roland Stephens; sister, Elizabeth Adams and a brother, Raymond Furrh; nephew, James Adams and a grandson.

S.R. is survived by a step-son, James C. Sharp, of Houston; step-daughter, Ann McMullen, of Dallas and three nephews, David Adams, of Wills Point, Joe Adams & wife, Reba, of Wills Point and Cecil Adams & wife, Cindy, of Wills Point.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
