Memorial services for Thurman Leroy Ferguson, 83, of Fruitvale are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Round'em Up Cowboy Church in Wills Point with Pastor Benny Chaffin officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
He passed away early Tuesday morning, April 30, 2019, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
Thurman was born November 20, 1935, in Leedey, Oklahoma, the son of Leslie Ferguson and Elsie Marie Webb Ferguson. He was raised in Leedey, where he attended public school. Thurman was a veteran of the United States Army. After serving his country, he married Shirley Hare Gregston and later married Ima Jean. Thurman was employed for forty years at Vought Aircraft in Grand Prairie, where he was an inspector. He lived in Grand Prairie over fifty years and in 2018, he moved to Fruitvale. Thurman was a member of Round'em Up Cowboy Church in Wills Point.
Preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Elsie Ferguson; wife, Ima Jean Ferguson and a brother, Ceilo Ferguson.
Thurman is survived by his son, Jerry Ferguson, of Grand Saline; daughter, Terri Brewer & husband, William, of Fruitvale; step-son, Arkie Fallin, of Grand Prairie; two brothers, Ed Ferguson, of Irving and Kenneth Ferguson & wife, Shirley, of Elk City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Chasity Herlihy, William Dickerson, Cory Ferguson and Daniel Dickerson and seven great-grandchildren.
