Tommy N. Elms Jr., of Canton, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020, at the age of 88.

Tommy was born on February 28, 1932 in Waco, Texas, to the late Thomas Nevell Elms Sr., and Mary Jo Elms. He was raised in Irving, Texas, moving to Canton, Texas, 25 years ago from Southlake, Texas. He retired from Laidlaw Transportation in 1993.

Tommy was a wise man of strong Christian convictions who loved Jesus and had a clever, well rounded sense of humor. Tommy enjoyed restoring antique John Deere tractors and was known for being able to fix anything. He was a patriot, an avid outdoorsman, gardener and a mechanic extraordinaire.

To cherish his memories, Tommy leaves behind his wife Shirley Elms of Canton, Texas; children, sons, Thomas (Andy) Andrew Elms and his wife Sandy of Kountze, Texas and Timothy Joseph Elms and his wife Marsha of Coppell, Texas, daughters, Vicki Jean Newburn and her husband Steve of Southlake, Texas, Rebecca Ann Girouard and her husband David of Grand Prairie, Texas and Laurie Beth Steward and her husband Keith of Canton, Texas; brother Daniel Joseph Elms and his wife Judy of Irving, Texas; sisters, Peggy Merle Lambert of Irving, Texas and Sally Beth Elms of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Christine, Matt, Michael, Sara, Thomas, Josh, Kadie, Ryan and Kyle; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents and sister Patsy Kramer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas. Family will be accepting guests one hour prior to service for visitation.
