Valta Dean Gunter, 92, of Mesquite, Texas passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in Mesquite, Texas.

Valta was born on July 6, 1929, in Van, Texas, to the late Franklyn and Velma Blackstock. She was raised in Wills Point and moved to Mesquite at the age of 30 where she spent the next 62 years. Valta was of the Baptist faith. She worked for Raytheon and retired from Electrospace as an Electrical Communicator.

Valta is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Maria Elaine Prindle; brothers, Franklyn Blackstock Jr. and Herley Blackstock; sisters, Mozelle Ashworth and Marie Chitty.

Valta is survived by her daughter, Dwanna Gunter of Mesquite; grandchildren, Matt Prindle and wife Cecy, Melanie Williamson and husband Scott and Sable Gunter, and Chase Gunter; great grandchildren, Katelynn Williamson, Krista Williamson and Adrian Loya and wife Lorena and their children Adrian and Lehxie; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 6, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Allan Fuller Funeral Home. Family will be accepting guests one hour prior for visitation. Valta will be laid to rest at Union Chapel Cemetery in Van, Texas. Online condolences may be made at allafullerfuneralhome.com.
