Memorial service for Vera Mae Mendoza, 76, of Wills Point, will be held at a later date. She passed away early Monday morning, August 8, 2016, in Wills Point. Arrangements are under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Vera Mae was born on August 25, 1939 in Mount Olive, Mississippi, the daughter of Frank Ozell McNair and Frances Naomi Ammons McNair. She was raised in Gloster, Mississippi, where she graduated from Gloster High School in 1957. Vera was formerly employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Dallas, where she was a long distance operator for three years. For fifteen years she was married to Jack Thomas Jensen, Sr. After his death, she married Manuel Mendoza. They were together for four years. Vera lived in Garland prior to moving to Wills Point eight years ago. She was very artistic. Vera loved her family and always put them first. She was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frances McNair; husband, Jack Thomas Jensen, Sr. and a son, David Jensen.
Vera is survived by three sons, John Jenson, Jr., of Wichita, Kansas, Jerry Jenson & wife, Linda, of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Dan Jenson & wife, Kathy, of Highland Village, Colorado; two sisters, Bessie Scallons & husband, Larry, of Canton and Evelyn Neeley & husband, Wayne, of Grand Prairie and ten grandchildren.
