Vernon Dennis Patterson, of Wills Point, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at the age of 69.

Vernon was born on March 22, 1952 to the late Arnold and Fannie Patterson in Eddy, Texas. He was raised in Athens moving to Wills Point 15 years ago. Vernon was a veteran of the Air Force. He was married to Sandra Murphy for 24 years. Vernon worked at Collin County Sheriff's Department as a Sheriff's deputy, self employed as a carpenter and retired from Schneider as a truck driver in 2013. He enjoyed photography, loved birds, hiking, and traveling the National park sector.

To cherish his memories, Vernon leaves behind his daughter Shelby Baker and Marcus of Wills Point; son Wesley Patterson and Amy of Howe, TX; brothers Arnold Patterson, Sidney Patterson and Monroe Patterson; sister Neta Rogers; grandchildren Arielle, Patrick & wife Jessica, Ashleé & husband Josh Wyer, Dillon, Katelin and Devon; great-grandchildren Harley and Erin.

Vernon is preceded in death by his parents; brother Robert Patterson; sisters Peggy Richardson, Ruby Rawls and Margie Russell.

Family will hold services at a later date.
