Memorial services for Vickie Lee Jones, 67, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 12:00 noon Monday, July 2, 2018, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor Mike Williams officiating. Burial will be at Small Cemetery north of Edgewood.
She passed away Thursday afternoon, June 28, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Vickie was born August 26, 1950, in Grand Saline, the daughter of Sterling Lee Sallings and Virgie Carroll Sallings. She was raised in Grand Saline and graduated from Grand Saline High School. She later attended Trinity Valley Community College. On November 1, 1968, she married Jerry Jones. Vickie lived in Wills Point most of her life and was a homemaker. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and she was known as the mother hen. She enjoyed making flower arrangements, working in her yard, gardening and taking her dog Eli for rides on the golf cart. Vickie attended Wills Point International Outreach Church and Stonepoint Church in Wills Point.
Preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Virgie Sallings; son, Jerry Jones, Jr.; daughter, Anissa Kay Jones; three sisters, Fern Reid, Reba Rodden and Janell Davis; two nephews, Jason Parvin and Michael Rodden, II; niece, Patty Reid Cooper; uncle & aunt, Arnold and Lillie Butler.
Vickie is survived by her husband, Jerry Jones, of Wills Point; daughter, Elaina Carr & husband, Dennis, of Laurel Hill, Florida; six grandchildren, Khaki Carr, Zoe Carr, Kaylea Jones, Harrison Jones, Camden Jones and Kendyl Jones and seven nieces, Donna Teel, Ivy Owens & husband, Ricky, Tammy Cooper & husband, Stephen, Tonia Miller & husband, Sam, Pam Reid, Debbie Martin and Ronda Hock.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday one hour prior to service.
