Victor Richard Petersen III, a devoted Christian, family man, respected veteran, and dedicated professional truck driver, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, in Wills Point, Texas. Born on June 18, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland, he lived a life defined by commitment, hard work, and deep love for his family.
Victor attended Terrell Schools through the ninth grade, laying the foundation for a life balanced between working diligently and cherishing personal connections. His service to his country was distinguished; he proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era from 1971 to 1973. This period of his life reflected his courage and sense of duty, qualities that resonated throughout his years.
Professionally, Victor was a truck driver who lent his skills to CPC Transport among many other companies. His career was characterized by dedication and a strong work ethic, attributes that earned him respect in his field. Beyond his work, Victor found joy in raising cattle and collecting guns, pursuits that reflected his interests and love of the outdoors.
On July 3, 1981, in Poetry, Texas, Victor married Debbie Karen Harvey Petersen. Their marriage was a significant chapter in his life until her passing in September 2023. Together, they built a family rooted in love and mutual respect.
A faithful member of the International Outreach Church of Wills Point, Texas. He loved the Lord and his church family dearly.
Victor is survived by his sons, Victor Dwayne Petersen, Derric Dominic Harvey and his wife Kim, and Harley Justin Petersen; his daughter, Melissa Louise Lee. His legacy extends warmly to eleven grandchildren—Mary, Christopher, Desiree, Kylie, Kadyn, Kason, Brooklyn, Hudson, Cassidy, Ashley, and Tyler—and great-grandchildren Bre’llé, Fernando, Tristan, Addison, and Adrian. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Fayetta Lee Hughes Harvey.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Debbie Karen Harvey Petersen, his parents Victor R. Petersen II and Janeth Estes Petersen, brother Mark Petersen, and his sister Mary Louise Petersen.
Victor Richard Petersen III will be remembered with profound respect and heartfelt admiration for his steadfastness, his love for family, and his enduring spirit. His life’s journey reflected the values of loyalty, perseverance, and a deep bond with those he cherished. He leaves behind a community of family and friends who will hold his memory in their hearts with lasting affection.
A memorial service for Victor will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Mullin Fuller Funeral Home Chapel.
