Funeral services for Virginia Ann Roberts, 77, of Dallas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor Marty Reid officiating. Interment will follow at Small Cemetery north of Edgewood.
She passed away Sunday morning, February 22, 2015 in Edgewood.
Virginia was born October 20, 1937, in Gilmer, Texas, the daughter of Emmett Greer and Viola Ward Greer. She was raised in Gilmer where she attended public school. On February 14, 1953, she married Elmer Ray Peden in Rockwall and later married Stephen Ray Roberts on April 6, 1968. Virginia owned and operated Big World Auto Supply, Big World Machine Shop and Mesquite Auto Supply all in Mesquite and Urbandale Auto Supply in Dallas. She loved her family very much especially her granddaughters, great-grandchildren and her pets, Molly, Maggie and Sister Bell. Virginia enjoyed watching HGTV, reading, working crossword puzzles, riding on Amtrak trains, painting and listening to Elvis Presley songs. She was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Greer in 1985 and Viola Greer in 1967, husbands, Ray Peden and Stephen Ray Roberts and a brother, James Weeden.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Karen Dodson & husband, Danny, of Edgewood; two grandchildren, Angie Nelms & husband, Arnie, of Crandall and Destiny Shumate & husband, Mitch, of Emory and four great-grandchildren, Collin Dodson, Skylar Shumate, Logan Nelms and Dylan Shumate.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning one hour prior to service.
