Funeral services for Wanda Lou Engle, 88, of Tyler, formerly of Edgewood, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Candle Ridge Baptist Church in Gray, Kentucky with Rev. David Morrow and Rev. Chuck Hinton officiating. Interment will follow at Candle Ridge Cemetery in Gray. Local arrangements were under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
She passed away early Sunday morning, July 1, 2018, in Tyler.
Wanda was born July 30, 1929, in Varilla, Kentucky, the daughter of Charles Reynolds Harbin and Mattie Mae Reynolds Harbin. She was raised in Varilla and attended Bell County High School. On June 30, 1947, she married Archer Glenn Engle in Rossville, Georgia. Wanda was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, cleaning and entertaining. Wanda moved to Tyler five years ago.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mattie Harbin; husband, Archer Engle on December 5, 2014; three brothers, Millard Harbin, Vernon Harbin and Billy Joe Harbin; sister, Twylah Kelley and a son, Timothy Wayne Engle.
Wanda is survived by a son, Glenn Engle, of Athens; three daughters, Sandy Hinton & husband, Chuck, of Athens, Marilyn Willis & husband, Johnnie, of Wills Point and Janet Bitzer, of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Charles Harbin, of Lynchburg, Virginia and Roy Harbin & wife, Joetta, of Corbin, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Chris Hinton, Aaron Hinton, Anissa Morrow, Lori Turner, Karri Turner, Brandon Thompson, Scott Willis and Donnie Willis and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Journey Church in Edgewood or Heritage Trail Cowboy Church in Ben Wheeler.
