Obituary

Weldon Fain Barker, 82, of Wills Point, Texas passed away on July 6, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Weldon was born on October 11, 1940 in Forman, Arkansas to the late William Thomas Barker and Cynthia Ann Cook Barker.

He was raised in Elkins, Arkansas where he attended and graduated from Elkins High School.  Weldon joined the United States Air Force in January of 1961, and served until January of 1965, while in the Air Force he was a 2nd Class Airman.

Weldon married the love of his life Sallie Jean Tackett on October 4,1978 in Amarillo, Texas.  Weldon was a tower operator for Santa Fe Railroad retiring in 1995 after 32 years.

He lived in Amarillo, Texas prior to moving to Wills Point in 1980.  Weldon was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Elwood Baptist Church.  He enjoyed riding horses, flying his airplane, and singing.

Weldon is preceded in death by his parents, nine sisters, and 2 brothers.

Weldon leaves behind his wife Sallie Barker; three sons: Jerry Barker of Wills Point, Texas, Christpher Barker of Wills Point, Texas, and Gregory Pollan of Mansfield, Texas; four daughters: Sherry Lynn War of Amarillo, Texas, Cynthia Ann Marshall of Fredericksburg, Texas, Tracy Gene Simpson of Hockley, Texas, Charmange Lee Caputo of Alvin, Texas; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday July 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home located at 205 Corky Boyd Ave., Wills Point, Texas.
