Mowles, Jr.
July 15, 1955 – December 24, 2023
Wesley Paul Mowles Jr., 68, of Grand Saline, Texas, passed away on December 24, 2023. He was born on July 15, 1955, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to the late Wesley Paul Mowles Sr. and Eula Mae Denker Mowles.
Wesley will be remembered as a kind-hearted and jovial individual, always ready with a helping hand and a quick wit. He had a deep love for the outdoors, finding solace in hunting, camping, and watching Westerns. Wesley also enjoyed friendly competitions, particularly when playing horseshoe.
A man of honor and duty, Wesley served his country with distinction in the Army National Guard. His commitment to his military associations was unwavering, and he was honorably discharged. Following his military service, Wesley embarked on a successful career as a truck driver. He dedicated many years of hard work to his career before retiring in 2010.
Wesley's memory will forever be cherished by his loving family. He is survived by his sons: Daniel Cliffton and wife Traci, Chris Cliffton, James Mowles, Jerry Mowles, and Zackary Mowles; daughter, April Babovec and husband John; brother Ricky Dinker and wife Linda; sister Peggy Mowles; and his beloved grandchildren: Angela, Wesley, Kourtney, Zoie, Loryn, Zachary, Lily, and Austin. He was preceded in death by his Father Wesley Paul Mowles Sr., Mother Eula Mae Denker Mowles, brother Dwayne "Turtle Head" Mowles, and sister Judith Hawthorne.
Education played a vital role in Wesley's life. He graduated from Oklahoma City High School in the Class of 1973 and went on to earn a Calculus Degree from Oklahoma State University in 1978.
During this time of mourning, let us come together to celebrate Wesley's life, sharing cherished memories and finding solace in the legacy he leaves behind. May his soul find eternal peace.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Wesley is scheduled for Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Fruitvale, Texas located at 181 VZ County Road 1910, Fruitvale, Texas 75127.
